Pine River Area Food Shelf

The Pine River Area Food Shelf is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 1pm. Every second Tuesday of the month, the Food Shelf is open later in the day for those who work, from 3 to 6pm. The PRAFS is conveniently located in the Pine River-Backus Family Center on 245 Barclay Ave. in Pine River. 

CommUnity Meals

A local collaborative effort has been put together to provide a free weekly meal for anyone who is hungry. Meals are pick-up only, each Monday at the Riverview Church in Pine River or each Thursday at the Backus Pine Mountaineer Senior Center.  Serving time is 4:00pm. until gone.

Food assistance (SNAP) & Cash Programs

SNAP helps Minnesotans get the food they need. You'll get an EBT card that you can use like a debit card to buy groceries at most stores and farmer's markets. 

Cash assistance helps people meet their basic needs until they are able to support themselves. You will get an EBT card that you can use like a debit card.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

Formerly known as the Nutritional Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS), this program is designed to provide healthy and nutritious food each month, at no cost, to qualified senior citizens in Minnesota. There are more than 200 pick-up locations across the state. 

Second Harvest Pop-Up Pantry

Quantities are limited. Please only attend 1 Pop-Up a month so there is enough food for everyone. Must fall within income guidelines to receive food. Click the information button to see if you qualify, and to find a pick-up location near you.
