Buy One, Give One Food Drive
Think of your local food shelf when you are out shopping. Help us help others by grabbing a second bag of fruits or vegetables to donate when you make a grocery run. When you are able, drop off your extra purchases at the Pine River-Backus Family Center between 8am and 4pm Monday through Thursday, and between 8am and 3pm on Friday.
COVID-19 & Food Shelf
The food shelf is open during its regular hours. We are now allowing self-shopping. We value our community health. If you are not feeling well, we are happy to shop for you and have it ready for pickup. Call LuAnn at 218-587-4292. Thank you for your help!

Stay on track with your child’s vaccinations
As a parent, you want to keep your children safe. Routine childhood vaccinations are an important way to ensure that your child and community remain healthy and protected against serious diseases, like measles and whooping cough.
As opportunities for in-person activities and play continue to grow, the Pine River-Backus Family Center encourages parents to make sure children are up to date on routinely recommended vaccines. Well-child visits and check-ups are essential for routine vaccination, even during the pandemic.
Parenting with Love & Logic

We celebrated all our Food Shelf volunteers on May 5th at Bites with a Volunteer Luncheon! We appreciate all of our volunteers who take time out of their lives to stop and help feed the hungry in our community.
Eagle Scout Project
Shout out to Cody Deplazes and his fellow Scouts for volunteering their time to put together birthday baskets to donate to the Food Shelf. These baskets contain everything a parent would need for a birthday party, for those who are struggling to afford a special day for their child. Thank you, Cody, and all those who contributed!
Service Day 2022
Special shoutout to Katelyn, Shailyn, Miqaella and Mrs. Bergman for all your hard work at the Family Center and the Food Shelf! Thanks for everything.
